The Neves Cultural Forum is delighted to present the exhibition “Children of Neiva – Neves Photographic Encounters”, a first of its kind and a great opportunity to extend the summer celebrations in the village square. Come and discover this exhibition from August 10 to December 30, 2024 and will be accompanied by a photogram workshop led by Diamantino Quintas on Sunday August 11.
The exhibition celebrates the cultural richness of Neves, a real gem for its inhabitants. Four childhood friends, passionate about photography and originally from the banks of the Neiva, decided to combine their talents to pay tribute to their native land.
Jaime Pereira, Carlos Novo, and Domingos Jaques will exhibit their work inspired by pagan and religious festivals, as well as the natural beauty of the valley’s flora and fauna. At the same time, a large-format print of Diamantino Quintas depicting the Neiva, taken 45 years ago and recently donated to the Cultural Forum, will be presented at the Cultural Forum.

The exhibition is not limited to these “four musketeers”. Diamantino Quintas, an internationally renowned filter-feeder, brought together nearly thirty prestigious photographers. By celebrating the 15th anniversary of his eponymous Photo Lab, he wishes to combine his origins with his life’s work, creating an exceptional exhibition supported by many artists. Among the photographers presented, we find the works of Agnès Varda, Gilles Caron, James Barnor, Yan Morvan, and many others.
Photogram workshop
Diamantino Quintas will also host a photogram workshop on Sunday, August 11, offering participants a hands-on and immersive experience in the art of silver printing.
The inauguration will take place over two days, on 10 and 11 August, with a guinguette set up on the village square, performances of polyphonic songs, and many other surprises. Don’t miss the Sunday community meal, accompanied by the famous “broa de milho”, the traditional artisan bread made with corn from the region

Le Forum Culturel de Neves est ravi de présenter l’exposition « Enfants de Neiva – Rencontres photographiques de Neves », une première en son genre et une belle occasion de prolonger les célébrations estivales sur la place du village. Venez découvrir cette exposition du 10 août au 30 décembre 2024 et sera accompagnée d’un atelier de photogrammes animé par Diamantino Quintas le dimanche 11 août.
L’exposition célèbre la richesse culturelle de Neves, un véritable joyau pour ses habitants. Quatre amis d’enfance, passionnés de photographie et originaires des rives de la Neiva, ont décidé de réunir leurs talents pour offrir un hommage à leur terre natale.
Jaime Pereira, Carlos Novo, et Domingos Jaques exposeront leur travail inspiré des fêtes païennes et religieuses, ainsi que de la beauté naturelle de la faune et de la flore de la vallée. En parallèle, un tirage grand format de Diamantino Quintas représentant la Neiva, pris il y a 45 ans et récemment offert en donation, sera présenté au Forum Culturel.

L’exposition ne se limite pas à ces « quatre mousquetaires ». Diamantino Quintas, tireur-filtreur de renommée internationale, a réuni près d’une trentaine de photographes prestigieux. En célébrant les 15 ans de son Labo Photo éponyme, il souhaite allier ses origines à son travail de vie, créant une exposition exceptionnelle soutenue par de nombreux artistes. Parmi les photographes présentés, on retrouve les œuvres d’Agnès Varda, Gilles Caron, James Barnor, Yan Morvan, et bien d’autres.
Atelier de photogrammes
Diamantino Quintas animera également un atelier de photogrammes le dimanche 11 août, offrant aux participants une expérience pratique et immersive dans l’art du tirage argentique.
L’inauguration se déroulera sur deux jours, les 10 et 11 août, avec une guinguette installée sur la place du village, des représentations de chants polyphoniques, et bien d’autres surprises. Ne manquez pas le repas communautaire du dimanche, accompagné de la fameuse « broa de milho », le pain artisanal traditionnel au maïs de la région.
