Lin Shu (林舒) “Toxic”

TOXIC

July 11th thru August 30th 2013

Lin’s admiration and fascination of the works by the Chinese ancient painter/poet Shitao “石涛” took him to photograph some of the greatest mountains and their surrounding forests of central China. With his old analog Chinese brownie camera “Hong Mei” a camera full of mechanical imprecisions and light leakages, Lin Shu captured mountains such Huangshan (黄山), Mount Emei (峨嵋山), Zhangjiajie (张家界) and landscapes that have been painted for over 300 years and captured to perfection with digital photography during the last decades.

The final silver gelatin handmade photographs that Lin produced are unique and representative of own distinctive photographic expression.
